A silver, or even golden, wedding anniversary is a reason to celebrate, and the setting should be very festive. Of course, atmospheric table decorations should not be missing here. Naturally, you can choose table decorations in all kinds of colors, but I think they look best in the appropriate colors.
Instructions for table decorations for a Golden or Silver Wedding Anniversary
What you’ll need:
- Sizoflor fleece ribbon, or organza ribbon in gold or silver
- Satin ribbon in cream
- Tablecloth in cream
- Napkins in cream, gold or silver
- Place cards in cream, gold or silver
- Candles and candle holders
- Scatter decorations: real or artificial flowers, plastic anniversary number, decorative rings, flower garlands, etc.
- possibly old wedding photos in gold or silver frames
Instructions for table decoration:
As the basic colors for this suggestion, choose Cream & of course gold or silver.
Personally, I like table runners, which can be bought in all kinds of materials. Try running a delicate Sizoflor fleece ribbon, or organza ribbon in gold or silver, lengthwise across the table. On top of that, you can then place a satin ribbon in cream. The tablecloth underneath should be kept in a subtle cream so that the decoration really stands out. Choose the matching napkins in one of the basic colors as well.
The more guests are invited, the more useful place cards are. You can either have them printed at print shops or make them yourself. Here I have a nice instructions for place cards with a photo of the celebrating couple:
Place cards with a photo of the bridal couple
- construction paper
- Scissors
- Pens or stamps
- Glue
- small photos of the bridal couple
- possibly embellishments, such as stickers with wedding rings, artificial flower heads, rhinestones, pretty cord, etc.
Cut the construction paper into place cards in the size of your choice. On one side, cut out a shape for the photo (e.g. heart, oval, rectangle, etc.). Glue the photo of the bridal couple behind the window that has been created. Now you can write or stamp the guest's name next to the photo and decorate the card with all kinds of accessories, such as artificial flower heads, stickers with wedding rings, etc.
Decorating the festive table
Once the base for the table is finished, you can start decorating the table. What I personally find very original are old wedding photos of the anniversary couple. You can either place or lay these on the table in gold or silver frames .
If you want to set out candles, you can either use the very classic thin, long-stemmed candles with elegant candle holders, or fill lanterns with gold or silver decorative sand and place candles in them.
It is also an eye-catcher if you decorate the stems of the champagne glasses with beautiful gold or silver bows.
Finally, you can round off the table with “scatter decorations.” There are endless possibilities here. A nice idea is to scatter the anniversary number (25, or 50) made of plastic, decorative stones (in teardrop or heart shape), gold interlocking plastic rings, artificial (or real) petals, flower garlands, etc. all over the table. In most craft stores, or also on the Internet, there are already lots of accessories available to buy. Of course, you can also lay out real flowers on the table. There are no limits to the imagination. With these decoration ideas, the celebration is sure to be a wonderful experience.
