Until now, I've always made a mess when I wanted to fill my piping bag, but of course there is a tip here so that you can do it like a pro:
Filling a piping bag and the problems that arise...
Actually, it's a completely normal action when you want to decorate a cake. You have a piping bag, a bowl of cream, and a spoon. Now you hold the spoon in one hand and the bowl of cream in the other – but who holds the piping bag?
Of course, there are hobby bakers who display true dexterity. Here, the piping bag is held with one hand, the bowl with the cream is lifted with the back of the hand, and the other hand can now spoon the cream over. However, not everyone has the patience and time for such experiments – so what can you do?
Put the bag into a tall, narrow container where you can fold the edge over at the top, and you can easily fill the bag.
A A pilsner or wheat beer glass is the perfect size to hold the piping bag. Either fold the bag around the rim of the glass as described above, or if that doesn't hold, fix it with clothespins. Anyone who doesn't have a beer glass in the house can of course also use a Mixing bowl.
And what can you do so that the cream doesn't leak out before decorating the cake?
Some piping bags tend to leak before the actual process. Here you can apply the following tip: simply kink the nozzle at the bottom before inserting it into the glass or cup.
