For those who cannot go on vacation all the time, evenings with delicious food from other countries are a great alternative. The table decoration should match this. It always brings a bit of holiday flair into your home. I am a huge fan of Asian cuisine and would therefore like to give a few tips for a quick Asian table decoration:
Instructions for a quick Asian table decoration
What you’ll need:
- White tablecloth, or placemats made of bamboo
- Tableware in white or black
- Chopsticks
- Flowers: orchids or cherry blossom branches (flower pot or vase), or bonsai trees
- possibly banana leaves
- Ornaments: small Buddhas, fans
- possibly lanterns
Asian table decoration
This decoration should be rather simple, definitely not overloaded. The basic colors intended here are black and white.
The table
The Table should be kept in dark wood; if you don't have that, you can also use a dark tablecloth. Of course, that's not for everyone; you can also use a white tablecloth or a tablecloth made of white rice paper.
A nice variation is to use placemats, for example made of bamboo.
The tableware
The Tableware should then stand out in color from the tablecloth, so either black or white. There is already beautiful Asian tableware available at low prices, where the small bowls should not be missing.
As Cutlery there are elegant chopsticks on the table, which you can also choose in a beautiful rich red as an eye-catcher.
The center of the table
Depending on what you want to serve, the center of the table is designed accordingly. If you like to Plants put on the table, it is best to choose orchids. These can be placed either in a pot or in vases. In Thailand, for example, you often get your drink decorated with an orchid blossom. The center of the table shines when you place a few blooming cherry blossom branches in a vase in the middle. Classically, small bonsai trees can also be used.
A great variation is to green the table with banana leaves (available in Asian shops or well-stocked supermarkets). These can, for example, be placed under the plate and thus become a placemat. These leaves can also be used to decorate the food on the platters.
Of course, travel souvenirs like small Buddhas or beautiful fans are a good idea for this decoration. If you like candles, you should distribute small tea lights and lanterns. But as I said at the beginning, it shouldn't be too much. It is better to limit yourself to a few basic elements and position them well.
