Muffins are a delicious and, above all, often quick option when guests arrive unexpectedly. If you would like to decorate your muffins for Easter, you will find some great ideas here:
Decorating muffins for Easter
Decoration with cherries and candy Easter eggs
What you’ll need:
- Muffins
- Candy Easter eggs
- Candied cherries
- Glaze
The decoration
First, apply the icing to the muffins; this can be a homemade powdered sugar glaze, such as this recipe: 6 tbsp juice (e.g., lemon or cherry juice, etc.) and 200 g powdered sugar. Or you can use a ready-made glaze, such as chocolate or punch. After the glaze has been applied to the muffins, place the cherry in the middle and, for example, 6 of the candy eggs around it. This then looks like a flower and generally fits very well with spring decorations.
Decoration with chocolate Easter eggs
The muffins can also be decorated very well with chocolate Easter eggs. Glaze the muffins again with icing and place a nest of edible grass on the glaze. Drape a chocolate egg or a small chocolate Easter bunny in each one.

Decoration with fondant – chicks
What is needed
- approx. 200 g white fondant for 12 muffins
- Powdered sugar
- 3 different food colorings (I used the gel colors from allestorte.at: Gel color set)
- Jam
or
- colored fondant (yellow, black, orange, white)
The decoration
To conjure up beautiful chicks on the muffins, the fondant must first be colored yellow, or pre-colored fondant must be used. Roll out the fondant thinly with a little powdered sugar and use a cookie cutter (a lemonade glass of the right size also works!) to cut out 12 round shapes and set them aside. Now take the white fondant and also cut out round shapes, but only 6 circles. Cut these circles in the middle with a knife or a fondant tool with jagged edges so that it looks like an eggshell. Now color a very small amount of fondant orange and cut out small triangles as a beak using a knife. For the eyes, color a little fondant black and roll small circles. Now assemble the chick: stick the shell, the beak, and 2 eyes onto the yellow circle using a little water.
Bring the jam to a boil and brush the muffins with it. Now place the chick fondant motifs on the muffins and let them dry.

Decoration with candy eggs and homemade chocolate eggs
What is needed
- Muffins
- Candy eggs
- Sugar decorations: flowers, ladybugs, etc.
- Paper butterflies
- white chocolate cream
The decoration
Bake muffins in small bundt cake tins, let them cool, and hide small candy eggs in the holes.
Homemade chocolate eggs also look very nice: to do this, separate surprise eggs into 2 halves, fill them with a white chocolate cream, and then decorate to your heart's content. These are decorated with sugar flowers and ladybugs as well as edible paper butterflies.
ExtraInfo:Only place the sugar flowers and paper decorations on the chocolate cream shortly before serving, as this can unfortunately soften the sugar and cause the colors to bleed.
