Colorful Easter eggs are simply part of Easter, but just dyeing them every year? It needs a little more pep? Here is a little tip on how to make your Easter eggs sparkle.
Glittering Easter eggs as Easter decorations
What you’ll need:
- Eggs
- Egg dyes
- Glitter pen (but superglue also works)
- Glitter (available in craft stores in small jars in various colors)
- beautiful decorative ribbons in matching colors
- Darning needle
Instructions for the glitter Easter eggs
Blow out the Easter eggs as usual and dye them in the desired colors (Why not try purple, pink, or electric blue?). After drying, the very creative part begins: now you can carefully paint beautiful motifs on the eggs with the pen or superglue, such as flowers, circles, ornaments, etc., and then sprinkle them with glitter. It is best to hold a large bowl underneath so that you can catch the remaining glitter that does not stick. When the motifs are finished, let the whole egg dry well again.
If you want to make a complete glitter egg, paint the whole egg with the pen or glue, smudge everything, and then roll the egg in a container full of glitter until it has the desired glitter density. Let everything dry well again.
To hang the egg nicely, carefully thread the decorative ribbons through the glitter egg with a darning needle so that a loop forms on the top side. Tie the two ends firmly at the bottom or tie small bows, and the homemade Easter decoration can be hung up and sparkle.
