Cream cakes look wonderful and taste very good. For the person who gets to cut into the cake, the cream cake may not be their favorite, because the cream usually sticks everywhere and the slices don't always look so nice. But we have a few tips here on how you can cut the cake like a pro:

Cutting cream cakes more easily

Hot water

So that you can cream cakes cut more easily, simply dip the knife in hot water before each cut. This also helps with cakes or pies with icing, so the icing doesn't break as easily.

Buttercream becomes firmer to cut

To make a buttercream for cakes firmer to cut, add a few drops of melted coconut oil. Now it can be cut much more easily.

The right knife for cutting cakes

Use a large chef's knife with a large blade to cut into the cake. Or even better, if you have one, a dedicated cake or pie knife. Often knives and cake servers are combined in one, which is very practical because you can cut and serve right away.
