Thermos flasks are a bit difficult to clean. Limescale, coffee or water deposits are often found as residue in the thermos flask. Here I have a few valuable tips on how to get it shining again:
Cleaning a thermos flask
Baking powder
If the thermos flask has turned brown from coffee or tea, baking powder helps. Simply fill the thermos flask with hot water, add baking powder and let it work for approx. 3 hours, then rinse well.
Baking soda
Baking soda can also clean dark discoloration wonderfully. Here, just as with baking powder, put the baking soda into the flask and fill it with hot water. Let it work for at least 3 hours, then rinse well.
Denture cleaner
If you don't have any baking powder or baking soda in the household, you can also use cleaning tablets for dentures, if available. The denture cleaner will also get the flask super clean again.
Potato
Put a raw, chopped potato inside and swish it back and forth. Now it is clean again.
Sugar cubes for the thermos flask
When storing thermos flasks, it is recommended to put a piece of sugar cube into the flasks; this also prevents unpleasant odors from developing over a longer period of time.
