In the video for the 9th week of pregnancy on meinhaushalt.at important information and tips for pregnancy in week 9 are presented.
At the beginning of the 9th week of pregnancy, your pregnancy may not yet be visible to outsiders. You may still be able to hide your small bump well, but soon the still tiny belly will grow larger. Weight gain is normal during pregnancy and is supposed to happen. By the end of the 13th week of pregnancy, you will have gained an average of one to two kilos. The baby only contributes a small part to this; rather, the uterus, the placenta, the amniotic fluid, and your breasts are responsible for the continuous increase in weight.
Your baby in the 9th week
By the 9th week of pregnancy, much more of the embryo's body can already be seen: the wrists and neck are forming, and the little arms and legs are occasionally exercised by the child. It practices what it can already do with cautious movements. The baby's brain is now growing every day and is rapidly producing up to 100,000 nerve cells per minute!
The little being in your abdomen now looks almost like a small human, although it is not much larger than a ripe cherry. In addition to the esophagus, the trachea is also forming, and the intestine is also growing every day. Since it is initially too large for the tiny embryo, it is formed for the time being in the umbilical cord in a sac-like channel. Between the 11th and 12th week of pregnancy, the intestine finally migrates back into the baby's abdomen on its own.
Towards the end of the 9th week of pregnancy, the last two heart chambers and the heart valves as well as the pulmonary artery and the aorta are formed. However, they are only fully functional when the child takes its first breath in the fresh air. The pulmonary artery is then supplied with oxygen – until then, the mother serves as the oxygen transmitter.
The development of the child is now complete; now the child, along with its organs, must grow and thrive. The embryo continues to receive the necessary nutrients, oxygen, and vitamins through the umbilical cord.
The mother now feels more and more often how the uterus is enlarging. Do not worry – this is normal during Pregnancy because the uterus is stretching. You will feel this sensation more often throughout the entire pregnancy. When standing for a long time or after getting up, it may occasionally happen that you feel dizzy – this condition is also normal. This is due to a slight drop in blood pressure. In these cases, take a short break and sit up straight. You will feel better again in no time.
Pregnancy is, of course, sometimes difficult for the partnership: frequent fatigue, bad mood swings, or hypersensitivity are usually difficult for the partner to empathize with. Talk to your partner calmly about the situation. Hormones are now being flooded into the organism in large quantities, so you cannot influence them. Nevertheless, many men feel just as affected during the course of the pregnancy and sometimes feel an equally strong sense of nausea. This very emotional bond will greatly strengthen the family.
Consider skin care
Make sure now that your skin around the breast and abdominal area is prepared for the coming strains of pregnancy. Most women get stretch marks, which unfortunately do not disappear again. But do not worry, in most cases they fade very well, so that they are hardly recognizable anymore.
Good massage oils and pinching massages are excellent for these preparations. Stroke the skin from the outside in and gently pinch the skin. This way, your skin can be optimally prepared for the stretching in the coming weeks.
