Even little baby nails grow – and so that the little ones don't scratch themselves with them, they should be cut again and again, but how do you do that when the little ones are always moving? Here I have a simple tip to make cutting nails easier:

Cutting baby nails more easily

Baby nails are easy to cut when the little ones are sleeping, or you hold your index finger across (the inside facing you). The baby automatically encloses the finger with its little hand, due to the grasping reflex. Use a special baby nail scissors. These do not have such pointed ends and are not as sharp as normal scissors.

Or you can use a glass file to just trim a few edges. Afterwards, apply oil to the nails.

When should you start cutting a baby's nails?

At the very beginning, no nails need to be trimmed; they are still particularly soft. It is recommended to wait about 6 weeks before trimming the nails.

How often do I have to cut a baby's nails?

Babies' nails sometimes grow quite quickly. In general, it is sufficient to trim the nails every 1-2 weeks. Often, you don't need to cut them; it is enough to just trim or remove protruding edges.
