Cleaning Lego, Duplo or wooden building blocks

Dust and dirt tend to collect in Lego bricks in particular. Cleaning each one individually with a brush is quite time-consuming. Here is a tip to get them nice and clean again:

Wash Lego or Duplo in a laundry bag

The easiest way to get them clean is to put the bricks in a laundry bag. If you don't have a laundry bag, or don't have one that is large enough, you can also use a pillowcase with a zipper. Then wash the bricks in the washing machine at 30°C. You should skip the spin cycle, as it is quite loud otherwise. Simply shake the plastic bricks dry in a towel and they will be sparkling clean again.

Extra tip:Do not put any toys with motors or lights in the washing machine, as they will not work afterwards!

Wash wooden building blocks in the washing machine

This also works quite well with wooden building blocks, you just have to let them dry properly afterwards. You don't need to add detergent to the washing machine, and if you do, only use a little, otherwise the colors will fade. Place the wooden blocks on the heater or in the sun.
