It has surely happened to everyone at least once: you want to open a bottle of wine and the cork won't come out. Here are some simple tricks:
Cork is stuck
Heat helps with uncorking
If a cork or stopper is stuck so firmly in the bottle that you cannot get it out with a corkscrew, you have to rub the bottle neck until it is warm. This causes the glass to expand and the cork can be pulled out more easily.
Hot water opens bottles with corks
If the corkscrew is broken or currently just cannot be found, you can run hot water over the cork closure. The warm air rises and pushes the cork out of the bottle neck.
