Annoying when the sponge base breaks apart. Bake a new cake now? Not always necessary, because here we have a tip on how you might still be able to save the cake:
Egg white glues broken cake base
What you’ll need:
- fresh egg white
Instructions:
Sponge bases break apart easily (especially if you have baked them a little too long). You can save the bases by brushing the broken areas with egg white and pressing them firmly together.
Egg white can also serve as an adhesive for braided yeast buns, plum jam pockets, puff pastry triangles, and similar baked goods.
