What to do if you have misjudged the amount of available baking ingredients misjudged has? With a little imagination, you can help yourself here too. The following rules of thumb will help:
Replacing Missing Baking Ingredients
Replace flour
Flour can be replaced with the same amount of ground nuts, breadcrumbs or semolina.
Sugar
Instead of sugar honey or maple syrup can be used, as these also sweeten. Caution: reduce the required amount, as honey or maple syrup sweeten more intensely. Taste as you go!
Butter or margarine
Butter or margarine can be replaced with twice the amount of quark.
Eggs
Eggs can be replaced with 1 tbsp oil, 2 tbsp water and 1/2 tsp baking powder per egg.
