Cutting cakes and tortes perfectly

As beautiful as cakes with icing and creams often look, cutting them can be tricky. Icing tends to break, and cream sticks to the knife. The slice of cake then usually looks unattractive, and as everyone knows, you eat with your eyes too. But here I have a simple tip to keep the icing from always sticking to the knife:

Hot water for cutting the cake

What you’ll need:

  • Tall container
  • Hot water
  • sharp knife

Instructions:

To make sure even the first cut comes out clean, it has proven useful to dip the knife in hot water beforehand. Fill the container with hot water and take it to the table. Now dip the knife before each cut and cut the cake.
