What are nylon tights?
A pair of nylon tights consists of almost 100% polyamide, also called nylon. The small proportion of elastane improves the fit and serves to refine the tights. But what exactly do the terms nylon, polyamide, and perlon mean? All these materials refer to the same thing – nylon tights. Only the brand name or the manufacturing process may differ.
Why should it be nylon tights?
It is the great look that is conjured up from normal, simple women's legs. The legs shine and are shaped. The fine material clings tightly to the skin, but is hardly noticeable. In general, however, women claim that they feel more feminine and beautiful when wearing nylon tights. And the tights also seem to be a real eye-catcher for men. The fact is: the majority of all men look at women's legs. Even if the female legs do not appear quite as perfect in nature, you can cleverly conceal many a visual flaw with a chic pair of nylon tights.
Are there quality differences in nylon tights?
Of course! Sometimes the differences are extremely serious, because not all tights are the same. Both the material and the waistband can be different in the various tights and, above all, determine the quality. If certain details such as high-quality elastane threads are missing, the waistband can, for example, quickly wear out. How does the surface feel? Soft or firm, smooth or rough? Here, too, there are differences in texture. This is of course important for the wearing comfort, because if you want to move unhindered in a skirt or trousers, this property should also be considered.
What is a run?
The dreaded enemy of every pair of nylon tights is by far the run. Since the tights consist of only one thread, the stitch can tear further when a hole is created. The typical run has been created. The chain reaction of the individual stitches, which can no longer hold each other, becomes longer and longer.
With a normal run, you can't really do much more than dispose of the nylon tights. However, if the run is small, the tights are still good to wear under long trousers, as the hole is not seen there. For larger damage, however, this is no longer recommended, as the wearing comfort is no longer given.
What do I do if I have a run?
Clear nail polish
Anyone who wears tights often should always have a small bottle of clear nail polish in their handbag. Because this stops the run wonderfully and effectively.
Hairspray
If you don't have clear nail polish at hand, you should try hairspray; this also glues the area a little so that the run cannot continue.
Wet soap
If you don't have either at hand, you should rub some wet soap on the spots in the bathroom.

How do I clean nylon tights properly?
The fact is that every piece of clothing must be washed after wearing. Fine tights are no exception here. This applies in particular to hold-up stockings or nylon tights with

Furthermore, it is recommended to add a small dash of vinegar to the wash water. This serves to preserve the stitch structure and has a firming effect.
Hairspray for the toes
Before wearing them for the first time, spray the toes with hairspray; this makes them firmer and more durable so that no runs can develop from here.
Recycle broken nylon stockings
Do not throw away your broken nylon stockings. They can still serve perfectly as lint-free cleaning rags, e.g., for windows or floors. They are ideal for floors because, thanks to the possibility of static electricity, no dust lint or animal hair escapes them. Or fill them – cut into small pieces – into decorative cushions.
Are there lined tights that look like nylons?
Yes, there are, and they are really practical. These tights look like 'normal' tights, but are lined with a soft fleece and are super warm. Only with my model are the feet not lined, I was a little disappointed there, I think that's because some people want to wear pumps here? I would have preferred it to be lined here too, because my toes often freeze.
