Deodorant

Sweating is very important for the body; it fulfills many important functions for the body. It cools the body, detoxifies it by flushing metabolic waste products out of the body, and protects the body because it forms a natural protective barrier with the skin's own lipids (fats). When we really sweat, sweat penetrates from every pore and we lose 0.5 to 1 liter of fluid, and in heat or during physical exertion, even up to 6 liters! Unfortunately, sweat is often very odor-intensive and undesirable in everyday life. Deodorants are often used here to prevent sweat and the associated odor. There is a huge selection in drugstores and supermarkets, so it is not that easy to find the right deodorant for you. Here I have some information that can be helpful when choosing a deodorant:

Which deodorant is suitable for me?

Roll, spray, or apply under the armpits; there is a huge selection of deodorants, so there is something for everyone. However, which deodorant you choose depends on your personal needs in everyday life: do you sweat a little or a lot? Depending on this, a different deodorant is suitable. Here are a few tips:

Deodorants without aluminum

If you don't have sweat stains on your clothes under your armpits, i.e., you only sweat a little, you can use deodorants without aluminum. Here, antimicrobial substances ensure that odor-causing bacteria find hardly any breeding ground.

Purely herbal deodorants

For very sensitive skin or allergic reactions, organic deodorants made from natural plant substances are perfect. They are produced without chemical additives and are well tolerated. For very sensitive armpits, deodorant creams are the best choice. These unfold their effect against odor after application to the skin and also provide care.

Antiperspirant deodorants

Anyone who sweats a lot and quickly should use antiperspirants; the aluminum salts temporarily narrow the openings of the sweat glands. This reduces sweat formation and the armpits stay dry for longer.Info:Aluminum salts are controversial, however; for some time now, they have been suspected of causing breast cancer.

Extra tip:Never apply deodorants directly after showering or bathing; damp skin cannot absorb the ingredients of the deodorant sufficiently. Therefore, wait a little after showering and only then apply the deodorant.

Extra tip:Anyone who suffers greatly from excessive sweating should consider treatment with Botox – yes, Botox, and specifically under the armpits. The Botox significantly reduces sweat production, lasts for several months up to a year, and the treatment is short and safe.

Here I can recommend 2 experienced dermatologists in Vienna who offer this treatment:
