There are also many other extractor hood filters for your extractor hood, such as grease filters. These are actually made only of metal, i.e., steel and aluminum, and are already an integral part of your extractor hood. But be careful, these should also be cleaned regularly, because if this filter is shot, you might have to spend some money. You can usually get a new grease filter in electrical appliance stores or kitchen studios; in case of emergency, they can also install the new filter for you. These filters cost up to 200 euros there. What is the deal with the annoying cleaning of the extractor hood?
The extractor hood should be cleaned regularly; it can become sticky, and if too much grease has accumulated, this can even develop into a grease fire. But don't worry, this actually hardly ever happens because the grease filter nowadays doesn't get sticky as quickly. You should clean your extractor hood and the filters up to 6 times a year, i.e., every 2–4 months. Cleaning is annoying, but it is also a relief once it is done.
