If the bread is no longer fresh and is already hard, please don't throw it away immediately. You can still make good bread chips out of it. Food is precious and I try to throw away as little as possible; it's not always easy, but if you make a little effort, it works well. I am always grateful for recipes for leftovers or food that is no longer quite so fresh. Here is a guide on how to make bread chips from old bread:
Bake bread chips from stale bread
Ingredients:
- Stale bread
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 110°C (230°F). Cut the bread into thin slices or bite-sized pieces. Place the pieces on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Now slide the baking tray with the bread pieces into the oven and let them bake at 110°C for approx. 1 hour. Let the bread chips cool down and serve. You can store the bread chips in an airtight container, e.g., made of glass.
The bread chips taste great with wine and cheese, with spreads, or with soups and dips.
