My friend and I decided on a nice girls' trip to relax, swim, and lie in the sun. Unfortunately, our schedules were tight, so we went at the beginning of October. We chose Mallorca and were not disappointed; we were lucky, it was still nice and warm, and we could even still go swimming in the sea. We treated ourselves to a suite with a sea view and all-inclusive at the Hotel Iberostar Albufera Playa in Mallorca.
The Hotel Iberostar Albufera Playa – Mallorca
A really great hotel, we liked it very much, nothing was missing here. It is located directly on the fine sandy beach of Playa de Muro. The complex is huge and beautifully designed.
Room
We had booked a suite with a sea view; the room was really very large and spacious, equipped with a double bed, another room with a couch and an extra bed, a great bathroom, and 2 balconies. The building only had 3 floors and was in a very quiet location. One view from a balcony was directly of the sea, the other into the complex towards the pool. Even the access to the rooms was so beautifully landscaped, green, and truly extraordinary.
Beach
The sun loungers on the beach have to be paid for, which we always treated ourselves to; we didn't need an umbrella because the sun wasn't too strong anymore. From 4 PM – 5 PM it was usually quite cool, so we usually left then. The beach is beautiful, spacious, fine sand, the sea was still warm, and we could go swimming.
Pools
We specifically chose a hotel with an indoor pool and sauna in case it got too cool, but we didn't need them; we were always outside, the pools were nice and warm. There would have been a small whirlpool in the indoor pool area.
There is a large long pool and several small pools next to it. There were enough loungers available. It was nicely spread out. For children, there is a children's pool with 2 slides. There is also childcare and a playroom for children.
Sports
There are many opportunities here to be active: surfing, kitesurfing, canoeing, sailing, squash, tennis, volleyball, table tennis, darts, yoga, aerobics, water aerobics, horseback riding are just a few things you can do here.
My friend went for a ride on the beach and was totally thrilled; it was a great experience.
The kite beach is a few meters further if you walk along the beach to the left; there was often enough wind.
The animation team at the hotel does a lot, e.g., they put bicycles in the pool for water cycling. Great.
Entertainment
In the evening, a show is always performed on the stage. There were some quite nice things. We got some drinks and snacks for it; the cocktails were really good.
Food service
There are 3 restaurants and 4 bars in the hotel. The food is truly a delight, especially the seafood buffet in the evening – I've never seen anything like it. Once there was raclette for dinner. There were many desserts, ice cream with decoration options. At noon, a buffet is provided on the terrace; there is a large selection of really delicious things. In the afternoon, a snack is provided in a café, sweet and savory. The chairs were so cool.
Excursions
Once the weather wasn't quite as nice, and we took the bus to Alcudia. The bus stop is right in front of the hotel, and we were in the old town in a few minutes. There we visited a market and bought a few souvenirs. Then we looked around the old town a little bit.
On another day, we took a long walk on the beach; if you walk to the left from the hotel, you come to the surf center and a small harbor. If you walk to the right, it gets quieter and quieter, hardly any loungers or hotels. We even found a beautiful forest and walked through it. Very idyllic.
Right next to the hotel on the street is a small supermarket if you want to buy something.
Price
We paid € 2,922 for the hotel including flights for 2 people for 1 week.(As of 2017)
Conclusion
A really great hotel – I was very enthusiastic. Everything was perfect here. The food was delicious, so much choice, always a free seat. The complex is really well done, the beautiful sandy beach. Unfortunately, it is quite expensive, but it is really worth it. I can highly recommend the hotel.
