This year, our girls' trip took us to Andratx, Mallorca, to the Hotel Gran Camp de Mar, located directly by the sea. We booked a double room with a side sea view in June with All-Inclusive.
The Hotel Gran Camp de Mar, Camp de Mar in Andratx – Mallorca
The hotel is located directly by the sea, although on a rocky beach. It is large, spacious, and was not overcrowded during our stay. It is located 25 km from Palma de Mallorca and 3 km from the towns of Paguera and Andratx. Furthermore, the marinas of Andratx and Puerto Portals are also nearby.
Room
Our room was very nicely furnished with a comfortable double bed, a bathroom, a balcony, and a side sea view.
Beach
The Hotel Gran Camp de Mar is characterized by its location directly on the beach and is situated in a paradisiacal enclave, surrounded by two beaches: Ses Dones and Camp de Mar. However, we always stayed right at the hotel; the sun loungers were included there, and you were right by the sea. Entering the sea is perhaps a bit sporty, with only a ladder by the rocks. You had to swim away immediately, but that was no problem for us.
Pools
The complex has a large pool with many sun loungers. The terrace exclusively for adults with a whirlpool is really great. The hotel also has an indoor pool, sauna, and wellness center.
Sports
The hotel has a gym, an outdoor tennis court, and a multi-purpose sports facility 5 minutes away from the hotel. A golf course is also nearby. For children, there is a playroom, a playground, and a children's pool; childcare is available.
Entertainment
In the evening, you could get cocktails and watch the evening entertainment on the stage. We liked Il Duo the best.
Food service
The food was very good; there was a breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffet. Lots of variety, and we enjoyed it very much.
Excursions
From the hotel, you can take a short walk by the sea, where you can reach the beach and the harbor. A bus leaves directly from the hotel to the town; we took it once and went to a market and strolled around the town a bit.
Price
We paid € 1562 for the hotel including flights for 2 people for 1 week.(As of 2017)
Conclusion
The hotel is located directly by the sea, although there are only rocks here; you have to walk a bit further to reach a sandy beach, but you have to pay extra for the sun loungers there. Entering the water is quite sporty with a ladder, and you have to swim away immediately. The sun loungers directly by the sea are nice, and you really have a great view. It wasn't that busy when we were there, so we always got a nice lounger by the sea.
The food was really very good with a large selection; we always got a seat, and there was hardly any crowding. The terrace for adults is great; it's nice and quiet here. The whirlpool is, of course, always full quickly, but we managed to get in a few times.
In principle, a nice hotel, directly by the sea, nice rooms, good food. If you don't necessarily need a sandy beach, this is the right place for you.
