We spent our first vacation as a family of four at the Hotel Semi in Lutzmannsburg. We had heard from several sources that you are well taken care of here with children, and the thermal spa is also very child-friendly and well-equipped. So, in July, we headed to the thermal spa for 3 days. Here are our experiences:
Kinderhotel Semi and Therme Lutzmannsburg
The hotel is located directly at the Therme Lutzmannsburg; you could reach the thermal spa directly via an underground connecting corridor. The hotel was nice and large, spacious, and the rooms were friendly and well-equipped. We had booked half-board.
Room
In the family hotel Semi, we had a family room, which means we had a bedroom where we had a crib and a children's room where there was also a crib. The room was large, with a kitchen, dining area, and couch. The bathroom was also nice with a barrier-free shower and sink. We had a balcony with a view of the garden.
Furnishings
The outdoor area at Hotel Semi is really fully geared towards children; here, children find plenty to play with. A large sandbox with lots of accessories, playgrounds, a trampoline, and even animals to marvel at.
The Therme Lutzmannsburg
The Sonnentherme in Lutzmannsburg is ideal with children and a favorite of ours. Parents with children lack nothing here. There are many slides, a wave pool, and extra pools for smaller children that are not as deep. The tiles are covered with mats so that the children cannot slip. There are sleeping and nursing corners, areas where you can prepare food, and plenty of loungers. In the restaurant, there are play areas, and even in the changing rooms, there are enclosed (!) play areas where you can put your child so you can get ready.
Outdoors, there are also pools for toddlers and a playground with a huge sandbox. Great for parents: there is hourly childcare available from age 2.
Our experiences
We were thrilled with both the hotel and the Therme Lutzmannsburg. It is the details that make a vacation easier, especially with toddlers. Mats on the tiles, and in the restaurant as well as in the changing area, there are spaces where children can play so that parents can still eat in peace or get changed themselves. There are separate sleeping and nursing rooms. A very big plus are also the slides, which are fun for parents too.
For us personally, the vacation was quite exhausting; 2 adults and 2 toddlers are a few adults too few. Although you can get directly to the thermal spa via a connecting corridor without having to change, it was a challenge for us. We had so much to carry that we wished we had a cart. Of course, it is also not that easy when eating or swimming, because even though there are children's areas or children's pools, you always have to be behind our children (ours were just over 1 year old). Here, I recommend taking at least one more adult along. The food at Hotel Semi was very good, and of course, child-friendly as well.
I can unreservedly recommend the hotel and the thermal spa with children; we will definitely be back.
