Skewers are always wonderful for a buffet – whether sweet or savory or combined, such little bites are always very well received. They are quickly eaten, you often don’t even need plates or cutlery, and they taste really good. The great thing is that you can combine things so wonderfully here. Cheese with grapes, or sausage and cheese with cucumbers, or bread with vegetables, wraps with all kinds of fillings, or even small pancakes with fruit. You can really let your creativity run wild here. Yes, of course, it is a bit of fiddly work because you often have to cut or cut out a lot. But with a little planning, skewers can be prepared well in advance, and then you can enjoy the party to the fullest, since at the start of the party all you have to do is set out the platters. Many skewers can also simply be assembled with small ingredients, such as cocktail tomatoes with mini mozzarella balls, or grapes, blueberries, etc.
The skewers can be placed on a platter, stood in a wide glass, or stuck into a Party hedgehog stick. Skewers can also be arranged beautifully on other vegetables: on a cabbage head covered with aluminum foil or on cucumbers.
In this article, I have some very good recipes and ideas for skewers with fruit or vegetables:

Mini pancake skewers

- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup flour

- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- neutral oil for frying
- nougat cream
- Strawberries
- Skewers
Instructions:

Extra tip: The pancakes will turn out nicer if you make them with a Piping bag or a batter dispenser . I have a small dosing bottle like that, and it worked very well for us.
Let the pancakes cool slightly.
In the meantime, cut the strawberries into thin slices and spread nougat cream on a few pancakes. Now always start with a strawberry, then skewer a pancake, a pancake spread with nougat, and another strawberry, and so on. Serve the skewers standing upright on a platter.

Skewers are really great for preparing in advance and are suitable for any kind of party: whether carnival, Christmas, or Halloween, and of course also for birthdays, confirmations, or wedding anniversary celebrations. Finger food is always welcome; it is easy to eat and looks absolutely great. Admittedly, it is sometimes a little fiddly, but with a bit of good planning you can prepare it well.
The skewers can be prepared sweet or savory with many different ingredients. Depending on your taste, you can conjure up really great creations here; mine are only meant to serve as inspiration for what you can put on skewers. With that, I wish you every success!
