When summer is just around the corner, Austrian gardens are abuzz with activity. Planting flowers, caring for the lawn, setting up the patio – several tasks help prepare your own property for the warm season.
Patio design – from the lounge to the patio cover from ForaVida
Summertime invites you to spend afternoons on the patio. However, the feel-good factor is missing if it looks empty and uncomfortable. Practical and stylish furnishings provide a remedy.
A Patio cover from ForaVida prevents leaves, dirt or precipitation from spoiling the seating area. It therefore forms the basis for turning the patio into an outdoor living room.
The company ForaVida was founded in 2019. Just four years later, it had established itself as a leading provider of patio covers and sliding glass walls.
Underneath the cover, small and large patios offer space for comfortable seating. A round coffee table and two chairs enhance narrow areas. On an XL patio, there is room for a large outdoor lounge, colorful planters and a privacy screen.
Which gardening tasks kick off the summer?
Before the summer months arrive, the garden needs the right preparation. Accordingly, lawn and plant care starts as early as spring. After the last frosty nights, gardeners begin with:
- scarifying the lawn
- sowing
- fertilizing
- mowing the lawn
Spring is also a good time to prune trees and provide flowering plants with additional nutrients.
From June onward, typical summer gardening tasks follow. These include regularly watering all lawns, beds and planters. With a newly planted floral display it is worth taking a closer look at its water and nutrient requirements. Otherwise, the colorful garden decoration risks drying out in the summer heat.
To keep the garden looking tidy in summer, gardeners reach for pruning shears, loppers and hedge trimmers at the end of June. Numerous cuttings, including young weigela and forsythia, need a light pruning.
By shortening shoots that are at least ten centimeters long, garden owners help their shrubs branch out. If they are Hedge plants, bushy growth contributes to their suitability as a privacy screen.
Early summer is also a good time to clean the pool and barbecue area in the garden. The feel-good atmosphere on mild summer evenings is enhanced by beautifully lit path and garden design. Solar bed and ground lights help with this.
