This year I picked out a couples costume again and my husband played along. We decided on the “#filter” and “#nofilter” costume. We actually only had to buy the wig for Andreas, so it was a very inexpensive costume. It went down really well and got lots of laughs.

#filter and #nofilter Costume – Couples Costume

What you’ll need:

Clothing:

  • 2 similar shirts
  • 2 T-shirts
  • 2 pairs of jeans
  • 2x the same socks
  • Headband
  • possibly a wig for the man

Accessories:

  • 2 cardboard strips
  • Stanley knife
  • Paints: white and black
  • Paintbrush
  • something to put underneath, e.g. newspapers
  • 2x strings

Instructions:

For the signs, cut 2 large strips out of cardboard with the Stanley knife. Prime the cardboard with white paint. If necessary, paint it twice so it covers nicely. With a finer brush, write “#filter” on one piece of cardboard and “#nofilter” on the other in black. Let the whole thing dry well. Then use the Stanley knife to make 2 small holes on each side and thread the string through. Depending on the size, tie the string together at the back so that the sign can be worn around the neck and be clearly visible at the front.

For the costume, simply put on a T-shirt, shirt, jeans, and matching socks. The man should have a wig with a hairstyle and hair color as similar as possible. We also put on 2 headbands as decoration. Finally, hang the signs around your necks and the party can begin.
