Small tasks like grocery shopping, doing laundry, or cleaning the bathroom can quickly become time-wasters. However, with the right methods, they can still be easily integrated into everyday life.

It all comes down to planning

With proper time management, managing the household can often be significantly easier. It is primarily about planning correctly, prioritizing tasks, and delegating when necessary. To stick to self-imposed plans, household apps can be used. They are suitable for creating to-do lists and distributing them across different days of the week. The app then reliably reminds you to complete them.

Only shop once a week

Many people go to the supermarket every day or every other day to buy groceries for their next meal. Usually, it is sufficient to shop once a week. Fruit and vegetables keep for a few days, so you can still cook fresh and eat vitamin-rich meals. Instead of spending half an hour in the supermarket every day, the whole thing can be reduced to half an hour a week. This saves an immense amount of time, but it must be organized correctly. A prerequisite for this is that the meals for the coming week are planned in advance. Writing a shopping list also prevents you from forgetting important groceries.

Create and check off to-do lists

So that the various household tasks do not seem like a huge, undefined mountain, they should be written down in list form. After completion, they can then be checked off. This not only provides a better overview but also visually shows what has already been done and how much more can be done. Furthermore, the various tasks should be prioritized according to importance. Cleaning the windows for example, is not as important as cleaning the bathroom. Decluttering kitchen cabinets also has no urgency, while the living room should definitely be vacuumed regularly.

Get to work briefly but intensively

Nobody wants to spend hours on a Saturday afternoon tidying up the apartment, going shopping, and cleaning. Therefore, the various tasks should be evenly distributed throughout the week. A different thing can be done each day. For this, a fixed period of 15 to 20 minutes should be set, during which you work in a concentrated and swift manner.

Delegate tasks and save time

Good planning is not always enough to manage the household alone alongside a stressful everyday life. Anyone who feels overwhelmed can bring a household helper on board. They can take over selected tasks and take care of shopping and cooking. They can also be a real support when doing laundry or cleaning. Seniors, for example, often hire household helpers because they are no longer fully able to perform the daily tasks themselves. But even for families or couples who both work full-time, outside support can ensure more order.
