Once you've mixed your own granola, you'll immediately understand why this breakfast is so popular. With rolled oats, almonds, cinnamon, vanilla, honey, and a little coconut oil, you can create a golden-brown, aromatic crunchy mixture in just a few minutes that elevates any yogurt and is perfect for snacking on its own. It hardly gets any fresher, healthier, or more customized to your own taste – and the scent from the oven immediately puts you in a good mood.

Recipe for homemade granola with rolled oats, almonds, and honey

Ingredients for 6 people:

  • 300 g fine-leaf rolled oats
  • 100 g sliced almonds
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • some vanilla extract
  • 100 g coconut oil (Amazon, I bought this Coconut oil bought)
  • 125 g honey
  • empty jam jars with screw lids

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F) top and bottom heat (160°C / 320°F fan-assisted).

Line the baking tray with parchment paper.

In a bowl, mix the rolled oats, almonds, cinnamon, salt, and vanilla extract.

Melt the coconut oil with the honey in a small saucepan on the stove over medium heat.

Mix this mixture well with the rolled oats until everything is coated. Spread the granola on the baking tray.

Bake in the preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) top and bottom heat for approx. 10 minutes. Remove, turn everything over with a spatula, and put it back in the oven for another 7 minutes. I took it out then; if you like it darker, you can let it bake for another 3-4 minutes. But keep checking to make sure it doesn't get too dark.

Let the finished granola cool completely before filling it into airtight containers. I used small jam jars for this.

The granola keeps for at least 2 weeks.
