At many celebrations, the person being honored increasingly requests a money gift. Of course, you can just put the money in a card and hand it over. But I think it looks much nicer if it is folded in a fun way. I got this tip from a friend's daughter: fold a butterfly out of banknotes. I think it's a great idea, here are the instructions:
Money gift: folding banknotes into a butterfly
What you’ll need:
- 2 different colored banknotes
- colorful pipe cleaner, chenille wire, pipe cleaner
Instructions:
Place the banknote in front of you and fold the bill in half horizontally, press firmly so that you can clearly see where it was folded, and unfold it again.
Then fold the two upper halves inwards so that it forms a point:
Now fold narrow strips horizontally from the outside inwards until you reach the middle, then turn it over and fold the other side the same way:
Now fold the banknote in half like a fan:
Now fold the second banknote. It is best to choose a different color, it looks much nicer.
Starting on the narrow side, fold very narrow pleats like for a fan:
Then fold the whole thing into a mini fan:
Now the 3 banknotes must be connected, I used a purple chenille wire for this: simply wrap it once around both banknotes and twist them together, and cut it off a few centimeters higher so that the antennae are created:
I think the butterfly is wonderful as a decoration in a card or on a small money gift (we put the butterflies in small decorative flowers!). The gift was very well received!
