Nosebleeds are very common, especially in children. It usually looks more dramatic than it is, and small home remedies are often enough to help. Blood from the nose occurs if you have fallen unluckily on your nose, been hit in the nose by a ball, or blown your nose too hard.
Stop nosebleeds quickly
The first rule here is: stay calm. Furthermore, avoid the long-standing and widespread measure of "tilting your head back"! Because if you lie down, it bleeds even more and the blood runs into the throat, which also causes nausea or a gag reflex.
When having a nosebleed, you should breathe through your mouth, press the nostrils together directly under the bone, and lean forward so that a wound closure can form.
Relief can also be provided by an ice pack: Place something cold on the back of the person's neck (ice cubes in a towel or a cooling pad). The cold causes the blood vessels to constrict and stops the bleeding.
Attention: If severe nosebleeds occur repeatedly, this should be clarified by a doctor.
