Pregnancy tips

In the video for the 27th week of pregnancy on meinhaushalt.at important information and tips for pregnancy in week 27 are presented.

You are now in the 27th week of Pregnancy. The fetus has now reached a total length of approx. 32cm and weighs around 900g. While you are currently gaining more weight from week to week, your child's body is also working busily. The baby's brain waves and senses are already active, the eyes are opened from time to time, and when your child is awake, it also reacts to the light it can perceive through the abdominal wall. The warm, red light shimmers gently towards it, so that it can distinguish between brightness and darkness.

The spine is also continuing to prepare for growth and weight gain – with its 33 vertebrae, 1,000 tendons, and 150 connecting pieces, the little body is well equipped.

Dreams during pregnancy

Many mothers often have bad dreams at night – the nightmares usually revolve around the birth or the child. However, do not let anxious dreams scare you. They are not predictions, but merely process the conflicts you are dealing with consciously or unconsciously during the day. Dreams about the birth or your child's health are completely normal in the Pregnancy and are part of the bond between mother and child.

Purchases for the baby

In addition to the initial equipment for your child, you have certainly already thought about other purchases, which can sometimes be quite useful for everyday life with the baby. Buying a bassinet, baby basket, or crib is a matter of taste, while other purchases require much more of your attention. A baby car seat for transport in the car is mandatory these days. You must not simply hold your child in your arms or transport them in a baby basket while driving. The newborn child must be buckled into the baby car seat with a three-point harness, which in turn is anchored to the car seat with the seat belt. The baby car seat itself must also comply with current standards – for this, you should seek the best possible advice from a specialist.

The selection of strollers is just as huge these days – yet the different stroller models play a major role. Manufacturers offer different variants for a multitude of everyday situations. Individual advice is also a good idea here. Whether you will be driving the future stroller in the countryside over bumpy roads or walking on asphalt in the city, exercising more, or just needing it for quiet walks are essential factors for choosing the stroller.

Initially, the newborn and the parents feel more comfortable when the child can find close physical contact. Special baby wraps or baby carriers, which are available in various colors and shapes, are suitable for this. Children can often be calmed better through close physical contact and are also easier to transport. In specialist shops, you can get a good idea of the quality of the wraps and carriers and also test them on-site.

In addition to transport aids, there are also other helpful and useful utensils that you should have ready before your child arrives. A baby bathtub, a diaper bag for on the go, baby nail scissors, a nursing pillow, perhaps some pacifiers, as well as various bottles and a bottle brush are part of the equipment. Sit down with your partner or alone in a quiet moment with a nice cup of tea in a place of your choice and write down what else you need so that everything is prepared for the new arrival.
