Garlic is wonderful for seasoning dishes well. If you don't have a garlic press at hand, you can still refine your dish with garlic. I got this tip from my grandma, who always crushed garlic like this:
Fork and salt as a substitute for a garlic press
Garlic clove Dice with a knife, sprinkle with coarse salt, and then crush with a fork. Thanks to the salt, the garlic becomes just as fine as it would from a garlic press.
Crush or slice garlic?
What is the difference between pressing or slicing garlic? Is there one? Yes, there is: Pressed garlic releases a much more intense aroma, which is too spicy for some. For a milder aroma, slice the garlic cloves into thin pieces.
