If you want to decorate your cake or muffins in an original way, marzipan is the best choice. You can conjure up very beautiful decorations for any occasion. We received these great muffins with snowmen from a dear friend before Christmas. I am absolutely thrilled and don't want to withhold this idea from you:
Marzipan snowmen as decoration
For the 8 snowmen you need:
-
-
- 150 g marzipan
- 8 white chocolate truffles, or 150 g marzipan
- Food coloring in green, brown, red and orange
- possibly Icing writer
- 50 g dark chocolate
- 8 small plastic top hats (available in gift or craft shops), or if you are skilled, shape them out of black marzipanpossibly white icing,
- white sugar snowflakesForm a round ball from the marzipan; this will be used as the head. Color about 1/4 of the remaining marzipan with orange food coloring. Color the rest of the marzipan with green food coloring. Shape a long nose like a carrot from the orange marzipan. Roll out the green marzipan thinly between cling film, cut into 8 strips about 10 cm long and 1 cm wide, and wrap them around the snowman as a scarf. Paint a button on the scarf with red food coloring.
-
Instructions:
Use brown food coloring or icing writer to paint 2 eyes and a mouth on each ball. Attach the carrot nose in the middle.
Finally, put on the hat (you can also shape this yourself from black marzipan) and place it on the pastry, e.g., muffins.
It is best to cover the pastry with white icing. Additional white sugar flowers look very nice.
Extra tip: For the angels you need:
Christmas marzipan angels as decoration
300g marzipan
- 25g + 1 tbsp powdered sugar
- yellow food coloring
- 8 wafers (90 mm diameter)
- white, red and blue
- decorative sugarIcing writer
- , decorative confetti, decorative stars, sugar pearls, etc.First, knead the marzipan well with 25 g of powdered sugar. Take 75g for the angels' hair, color it with yellow food coloring, and press it through a garlic press. Cut to the desired length. Shape 8 heads from the remaining marzipan and distribute the marzipan hair on them. Paint the mouth and cheeks with red icing writer, and the eyes with blue. If you like, you can also use confetti for the eyes and cheeks; for this, first place dots with white icing writer and then stick the confetti on.
For the wings, draw a template (or if you have one, you can also use a
heart-shaped cookie cutter that is about 8 cm in diameter), place it on the wafer, and then carefully cut it out with scissors. To decorate, first paint the wings with white icing writer and decorate with decorative sugar, confetti, or pearls, etc., as you like.Make a dot with white icing writer in the middle of the muffins and stick the angel head on. Insert the hearts behind the heads into the muffin.
