While baking, you notice that you don't have any Powdered sugar at home? Then don't panic; with a few simple household remedies, you can make your own powdered sugar:
Make powdered sugar yourself
What you’ll need:
- 1 cup regular sugar
- 1 tbsp cornstarch (also called starch flour, Mondamin, Maizena, etc.)
Instructions:
Mix the regular sugar with the cornstarch and put this mixture in the blender for about 2 minutes. Don't forget the lid, otherwise everything will be covered in sugar, and of course I'm speaking from experience here!
I've also tried it without the cornstarch, and that works wonderfully too. If you don't have a blender, you can also use an electric coffee grinder. By the way, poppy seeds can also be ground very well in a coffee grinder.
