When the milk bottle is replaced by porridge, many parents wonder what is best to offer their child to drink. You are welcome to use still water and baby teas here. However, baby tea does not refer to those granulated varieties that you find on the shelves in supermarkets or drugstores under the name instant tea – these contain too much sugar and harm the baby's growing milk teeth.

Natural tea varieties are more recommendable – it is not particularly important whether they are tea bags or loose tea variants. Whether fennel tea, herbal teas or fruit teas: the tea itself is digestible for your child and can be soothing – even for the parents, if one day or another was a little more turbulent. Furthermore, it is not crucial that you spoil your child with the addition of sugar here.

The baby will get the first tea from the bottle, ergo: it sucks on the bottle for a certain amount of time, the liquid plays around the teeth and thus makes them more susceptible to tooth decay. Your child will receive enough sugar with their food, so you don't need to worry about this addition.
