Now that my twins want to climb higher and higher, nothing is safe anymore, especially their little heads. Since we have parquet floors in the living room and I have 2 wobbly babies coming my way, I needed a soft and warm crawling blanket. In addition, the baby play mat had to be large so that the children would have enough space and I could sit with them too.
Making a crawling blanket yourself
My solution is a mattress topper (dimensions: 180 x 200 cm, 3-5 cm height), which you can get in most furniture stores. This topper is normally used to bridge the gap between two mattresses. I covered this topper with a colorful (in my case yellow) bed sheet that is easy to wash. Then you just have to distribute the toys on it and the fun can begin on the new crawling blanket.
We spend a lot of time on this large play mat and I hope that this tip will help many families to create a nice place for their little ones.
Finally, a question for you: which crawling blanket do you use and were you able to implement this tip well? I would be very happy to receive comments!
