To relieve your wallet or household budget and have to refuel less, you only need a few small changes that are listed in the following saving tips:

Saving tip: How to consume less petrol and diesel

Switch on air conditioning later

If the car is heated up, open the windows first, then drive a short distance to get the hot air out of the car. Only then turn on the air conditioning, and set it so that the desired temperature is about 5 degrees below the outside temperature. Anything more is unnecessary, unhealthy, and just wastes fuel.

Correct tire pressure

Check the tire pressure regularly. Properly inflated tires save fuel.

Avoid large speed changes

If you have an electronic consumption display, you are surely already aware that longer phases of constant speed save petrol or diesel and reduce consumption. Try to drive in such a way that as few speed changes as possible are necessary.

Use engine braking

Engine braking: let the car roll in gear and no fuel is consumed. Using the brakes is often unnecessary.

Use the correct RPM range

RPM: every car has a correct RPM range where you can drive very cost-effectively. This range is usually in the manual or you can find it out via the electronic consumption display.

Shift up faster

Acceleration: short acceleration phases save fuel. Shifting up quickly is usually better than letting the engine rev high.

Unload the car

Get rid of unnecessary ballast that only increases consumption! Check again and again whether things are being carried in the trunk that you do not need or do not need at the moment.

Switch to the bike

Generally speaking, you should of course try to cover short distances on foot or by bike so that you don't have to use the car at all. Sometimes you automatically get into the vehicle even though the distance could be covered by bike or on foot. Change your behavior accordingly and save hard cash, and at the same time do something for your health! This way you save the money for the gym!
