When planning an excursion with babies, you have to take a lot of things with you so that the visit to the grandparents or a friend goes smoothly. You shouldn't underestimate what little people need, even if you are only going away for a few hours.
Packing the diaper bag for the baby
For trips with my twins, I always had a very large bag with me, and yet it happened more than once that I had to drive back because I had forgotten something. That's why I got into the habit of leaving most things in the bag, and I have a note in the kitchen that lists everything I still need to pack or check to see if it's included.
I usually only had to add food and drink to the bag; the rest of my checklist was always packed and ready. You just have to make sure that the clothing still matches the size and the season and that it is refilled whenever you use spare clothes.
What goes in the diaper bag
Here is my packing list or checklist
- Spare clothes (very important, as something can always go wrong)
- Cloth diapers
- Bibs
- Food (jars of baby food or milk powder, snacks (rusks, rice cakes, etc.))
- Bottles and teats or drinking cups
- Boiled water or baby mineral water
- Pacifier
- Diapers
- Wet wipes
- Toys
- Baby blanket
- Medications
- Mother-child passports and e-card
- Bags for dirty or wet laundry
With this checklist, I as a mother have always managed well. Please write me a comment if something is missing or if you have had other experiences with packing.
