This Minimal festival packing list lists a few things that you ABSOLUTELY must take with you.
- Cash and/or ATM card
- Festival ticket
- Directions to the festival or navigation devices*
- Good mood
Camping packing list – perfectly equipped for the festival
In most cases, you will be camping, which is why this festival packing list is a camping packing list and can of course also be used for other occasions.
- Tent: As an effortless and time-saving option for festivals, so-called “pop-up tents
“* are ideal. After taking the tent out of the packaging and removing the rubber band, simply throw it into the air. Hey presto – the tent is standing. The tent just needs to be secured with suitable pegs, and the subject of setting up the tent is ticked off.
- Pegs: To protect the tent from blowing away.
- Plastic tarp: In case of rain as a base or to cover the tent. In the sun, an ideal sun protection.
- Small hammer: To be able to drive in the tent pegs without any problems.
- Air mattress or sleeping mat: The cold of the ground should not be underestimated. Particularly comfortable lying comfort is offered by “self-inflating sleeping mats
„*.
- Sleeping bag: Snug and warm in a sleeping bag*
wrapped – restful sleep is one of the most important ingredients for a pleasant festival weekend.
- Blankets: With a few blankets over the sleeping mats, it is much more comfortable to sleep.
- Pillow: Another detail for comfortable sleep. Can also be used for a little nap on the journey home.
- Camping lantern/flashlight: Brings light into the darkness of the festival night. In order not to have to rely only on your sense of touch, so-called “camping lanterns
“* are a great thing.
- Camping table: To eat or sit together comfortably.
- Seating: Whether a blanket or a folding camping chair, absolutely necessary to give your festival-weary feet a well-deserved break.
- Pocket knife: A particularly practical point on the festival packing list – so-called “all-rounder” versions, such as the Swiss Army knife
*, which have useful tool equipment such as scissors, nail file, toothpick, etc.
- Bellows: Optimal for inflating the air mattress or for heating up the grill.
- Gaffer tape: With so-called gaffer tape, small holes in the tent, as well as other minor ailments, can be quickly repaired.
- Travel or padlock: If the tent is “locked”, you can relax and enjoy your favorite band.
- Plastic garbage bags: Whether as rain protection, to sit on, or for waste disposal.
- Plastic barrier tape: Helpful to mark off your “territory”.
- Thin rope: Versatile, e.g., to tension tarps.
Provisions – food and drinks at the festival
Without the right food and drinks, a festival is no fun – our festival packing list shows what you really need when the party is happening around the tent.
- Water: Plastic bottles or water containers can be refilled again and again.
- Drinks: Whether alcoholic or not, you should make sure that glass bottles are not allowed on campsites.
- Instant coffee powder/tea bags: make it easier to wake up after a night of dancing.
- Coffee creamer/camping milk (milk in a tube)/condensed milk
- Thermos flask: Cools or warms the contained drink
- Cups for drinks
- Vitamin-rich fruit: Apple, banana, etc., healthy snack for in between.
- Canned food: Whether ravioli, beans in tomato sauce, or tuna – food in cans can be eaten without hesitation after a few days, even without cooling.
- Instant soup (packet soup)
- Bread: Crispbread, toast block, or pumpernickel (whole grain bread made from rye meal)
- Margarine
- Jam/honey/Nutella
- Sausage: Ham, salami, etc.
- Cheese: a tip is processed cheese – remains edible even without cooling

- Pickled vegetables: Pickles, mini onions, corn salad
- Sugar/sweetener
- Salt + pepper
- Sauces: Mayonnaise, ketchup, garlic sauce
- Sweet and salty snacks: Cookies, chips, or croissants – the main thing is to have something in your stomach as soon as you get a little hungry.
- Chewing gum: small remedy for bad breath in between.
- Small plastic bag: keeps fruit, cheese, and sausage fresh.
- Cutlery: whether plastic or steel – knife, fork, and spoon make eating much easier ;).
- Can opener
- Corkscrew
- Cooler bag with ice packs: Necessary to keep drinks and food cool. If you are traveling by car, electric cooler boxes .
- Camping stove*
- Camping grill*/disposable grill
- Charcoal
- Lighter fluid
- Paper plates
- Wooden or plastic board
- Kitchen roll

The festival short trip
If you are only going to the festival of your choice for one day, it only counts to take the most necessary things with you, as every item makes the backpack heavier.
The most important things for the festival visit
- Cash and/or ATM card
- Festival ticket
- Directions to the festival or navigation device*
/train ticket/flight ticket
- Festival program booklet
- Good mood
Table of contents: The festival short trip backpack
- Backpack
- Tissues/wet wipes
- Brush
- Deodorant
- Headache tablets
- Water
- Snacks
- Flashlight
- 1 pair of fresh socks
- 1 sweater
- 1 T-shirt
- Rain poncho/rain jacket
- 1 or 2 plastic garbage bags
Which things should stay at home on the festival trip?
To avoid losing important property, here is a small list of things that have no place at a festival.
- Water-sensitive, expensive technical items: If possible, it is best to take technical devices (radio, speakers, etc.) that have long since seen their best days. Many unforeseen situations can arise at a festival, and who wants to have their mood ruined because the constantly drunk camping neighbor spilled a beer over your brand-new Magnat speakers...
- Key ring: Sort through your key ring and take only the most necessary keys (e.g., car and house keys) with you.
- Wallet: Your wallet should also be checked to take only the most necessary things. Important bills or documents, credit cards, or Grandma's voucher from last Christmas have no place at a festival.

Mental check – Go through everything in your mind (or with the help of our list ;)) in peace and quiet, and make sure that everything necessary has been packed. To have peace of mind, you should also consider the following points:
- Plants and pets taken care of?
- all windows closed?
- all lights switched off?
- Heating or air conditioning off?
- House or apartment locked?
With this packing list for the festival of your choice, you are perfectly prepared for almost any situation. With that in mind – Have fun! ?
