Shower curtains have to withstand a lot of moisture. It often happens that they get moldy quickly. Here we have a tip so that this doesn't happen so quickly:
Protect shower curtain from mold
Salt water
You can protect shower curtains from mold by soaking them in salt water for a night before use. Then hang them up and let them dry!
Always let it dry
To ensure the shower curtain can dry properly, always spread it out and do not leave it bunched up. If left bunched up, the curtain remains damp and provides a perfect breeding ground for fungi. If you have a bathroom window, open or tilt it so that the moist air can escape quickly.
Baby oil
Rub the shower curtain with a little baby oil before use; this protects against dirt and acts like an impregnation. This makes water and soap residue bead off better.
Vinegar and lemon juice
Mix vinegar and lemon juice and use it to scrub the shower curtain with a brush. The vinegar kills the bacteria and the lemon creates a pleasant smell.
Washing machine
Most shower curtains can also be cleaned in the washing machine at 30°. Select a delicate wash cycle and do not spin. Do not wash any other laundry items with it!
