Ties are simply part of a suit and can be found in almost every man's closet. As a result, ties are often used daily and are frequently exposed to stains while eating. Unfortunately, ties are often very delicate and cannot simply be washed in the washing machine. To ensure that ties remain beautiful and are properly cared for, I would like to provide a few helpful tips here.

Tips for the storage and care of ties

Proper storage of ties

It is best to store ties rolled up or lying flat. If you don't have much space and want to store them hanging in your closet, make sure they are not hanging on top of each other or too tightly on the hangers, as ties need air. Also, be sure to protect them from sunlight so they do not fade.

Important: After wearing, always untie the knot and roll it up for a few hours (starting at the narrow end); this smooths out the fibers and prevents fabric breakage.

Care of ties

Do not wash silk ties, otherwise they will warp. You should also not rub them with a damp cloth, otherwise you risk discoloration. For stains, it is better to go to the dry cleaner.

If you want to try to get a stain out of your tie yourself, take a cloth soaked in spirit or stain remover and dab the stain with it.

If wrinkles have snuck into the tie, don't iron it right away; try steam first: either with steam from a steam iron (just let it take effect, do not iron) or hang it in the bathroom after showering. If none of that helps, place a damp cotton cloth on the tie and iron over it, but always avoid the edges.
