As a mother of twins, I am always looking for nice places nearby where the children can let off steam. Our own garden is nice and all, but it gets boring over time, and social interaction with other children needs to be learned as well.
Playgrounds are perfect for this: we enjoy the fresh air, the children can climb and run around, and sometimes even make friends. Here, I would like to introduce a few playgrounds in the Gänserndorf district that I have already visited with my twins (currently just 18 months old) and share how we liked them.

Playgrounds in Gänserndorf
New 2022: Ninja Warrior course + children's playground

Right behind the indoor swimming pool, you can find a Ninja Warrior course. Here, a track is equipped with 8 obstacles that put endurance, skill, and coordination to the test. For smaller children, there is a children's playground right next to it, and for parents, there are loungers and benches to linger on. So, everyone is sure to find something here.
Public transport access: From Gänserndorf train station, it is a walk of about 15 minutes

New 2022: Gänserndorf Rainbow Playground Eichamtstraße

Right next to the newly designed Rainbow Kindergarten, a beautiful rainbow playground has been created. Smaller than the previous playground, but with beautiful wooden elements and all colorful with rainbows. Swings, balancing, or slides for the little ones; every space is nicely utilized. A covered seating area is available for parents or for a snack.
Public transport access: From Gänserndorf train station, it is a walk of about 15 minutes

Right behind the Gänserndorf elementary school at Hafergrubenweg, a really great new playground has been created. In the large area, children can let off steam with various activities. Beautiful wooden play equipment has been here since May 2016: great skill courses, climbing opportunities, and a very long slide that you can only reach if you master the climbing ascent. The highlight is definitely the very large swinging swing, on which you can swing like Tarzan. Children (or parents too!) can rest in the beautiful hammocks. Small children will love the very large covered sand area. Furthermore, children can play soccer at the soccer goals, play basketball on the basketball court, zip around on bikes, scooters, or skateboards at the skate park, or play beach volleyball on the sand court. The playground is largely fenced or separated from the street by hedges. I find the small snack garden that was planted quite nice: many berry bushes like currants or jostaberries are ready for little sweet tooths. Anyone who is thirsty can quickly quench their thirst at 3 drinking water fountains.

Gänserndorf Rosengasse

In Gänserndorf, we currently like the playground in Rosengasse the best. There are 2 baby swings here, so our twins can swing together. Furthermore, right next to it, there is a large sandbox, a wooden house, several see-saw devices, and a rotating carousel. There is also a slide where you can also climb a little. The really great children's cable car will probably only be a hit with our children later.
The playground is fenced with a wooden fence and has two wide entrances, so we were able to get in easily with our twin buggy. However, the entrances have no doors. There are several benches, some even with a table.
Public transport access: From Gänserndorf train station, it only takes about 5 minutes on foot.

Gänserndorf Seegasse

In Seegasse in Gänserndorf town, we have also already looked at the adventure playground. Unfortunately, there is only one baby swing here. But that didn't bother our daughter, because she immediately trudged on to the larger bird's nest swing and bravely let herself be put into it. There is also a large sandbox here (attention, there is also the possibility to splash with water here – so maybe bring spare clothes!), a long slide on a hill, see-saw devices, and many opportunities to climb. A drawback in my opinion is that this playground is not fenced, as a street borders it directly and there is a construction site behind the slide.
Public transport access: From Gänserndorf train station, the adventure playground is about a 10-minute walk away.

Deutsch Wagram Hausfeldstraße

In Deutsch Wagram, there is a beautiful playground right near the Deutsch Wagram train station, namely in Hausfeldstraße. There are slides for everyone here: very long and steep ones and also small ones for the younger ones, many swings, see-saws, and climbing frames. It is not fenced, but it is located in a pit and you have to climb steps up to the street. There are some benches to linger on and it is generously laid out. Right next to it is also a skate park for older children. With a stroller, you have to walk a bit past the stairs, where a path leads down (to the Rübenplatz) that you can use to get to the playground.
Older children can do their laps on the well-laid-out mountain bike trail.
Public transport access: From Deutsch Wagram train station, you are there in a few minutes and there are paths so that you can also get down with a stroller. Even with a twin buggy, that was no problem.

Strasshof /Silberwald Grenzstraße

In Strasshof, we looked at the children's playground in Grenzstraße. There you can find a nice large bird's nest swing where our children could swing together. Furthermore, there is a little house and many see-saws. This playground is fenced (but has no door!) and has wide entrances, so it was no problem with a twin stroller either.
Public transport access: From Silberwald train station, the playground is about a 10-minute walk away.

Strasshof/Silberwald Kennedystraße

A small playground is located in Silberwald, namely in Kennedystraße. Children can swing in a beautiful bird's nest swing or in a baby swing. In a small house, the little ones can hide or whiz down a slide. This playground is fenced and has a lockable door.
Public transport access: From Silberwald train station, it is only 5 minutes away.

Strasshof Stolze Föhre Georg Weissel Straße

In the town center of Strasshof around the Stolze Föhre, a beautiful, quietly located playground has been created. Away from street noise and near a forest, babies can swing in a baby swing or older children in a tire swing. For toddlers, the train is a highlight; older children can romp around on the slide frame. There are also some see-saw devices here that must be tried out. With a bit of luck, parents can rest a little in the shade of the Stolze Föhre.
Public transport access: From Strasshof train station, the playground can be reached in 5 minutes.

In Strasshof in Flugfeldstraße, there is a large playground with some play equipment. Children can wonderfully let off steam on several slides, swings, and see-saw devices. For small children, there is a baby swing, a bird's nest swing, a small house to hide in, and a smaller slide. Older children can choose between 2 different slides, romp around on the climbing frame, or swing on a tire.
Public transport access: Unfortunately, the playground is poorly accessible by public transport; from Strasshof train station, it can be reached in about 30 minutes.

In Strasshof between Dr. Bruno Kreisky-Straße and Gustav Mahler-Straße, a huge playground was built on approx. 3600 m². This really large and great playground offers something for children of all age groups. For toddlers, there is a separate area with 6 pieces of play equipment (from spring see-saw to playhouse), and for older children, there are 12 pieces of play equipment, such as swings, a really great cable car, a table tennis table, and a 3-bar horizontal bar. For older children, there is also a volleyball court, and for the very little ones, a sand pit to play in. The playground is fenced and equipped with benches. Trees for shade have also been planted, but these will still need a little while until they really provide shade.
Public transport access: The playground is not so quickly accessible by public transport; the Strasshof train station is a good 20 minutes away.

Playgrounds in Schönkirchen Reyersdorf
Schönkirchen Reyersdorf Jägerstraße

Opposite Silberwald in Schönkirchen Reyersdorf in Jägerstraße, there is also a small playground that my heroes have already visited with me. This play meadow is only partially fenced; unfortunately, the fence already has some holes towards the street. There is a slide and 2 swings (1 tire swing and 1 for older children). My children liked the rotating carousel very much – and of course the stones by the slide!
Public transport access: From Silberwald train station, the children's playground can be reached in a few minutes.

This is probably just the beginning of our playground list, and I am already very curious about where we will end up next. It is always nice to see how the children discover the world anew day by day and also on the playground how they become braver and braver. My heart will surely stop during many a climbing action, but at the moment it is so nice when they whiz down a slide quite proudly and are already swinging quite high.
