Fruit with vinegar and buttermilk

Fruit is well known to be very healthy and should be on our daily menu. However, fruit stains, especially from red or dark fruit, are very inconvenient. If fruit stains have landed on your clothes, here are a few tips to remove them with simple household remedies:

Remove fresh fruit stains with household remedies

Hot water

If the stain is still fresh, let very hot water run over it for a longer period of time and wash it out.

White vinegar

Drip white vinegar onto the stain and let it soak for about 30 minutes, then wash as normal.

Warm buttermilk

Soak the fabric immediately in warm buttermilk (or normal milk), then wash as usual.

Discoloration from fruit stains

Lemon juice

If discoloration remains, let some lemon juice soak in and rinse with cold water,

Ammonia solution

Rub the discoloration with a diluted ammonia solution and let it soak in, then rinse with cold water.

Stains from dark fruit juice

Dish soap

Immediately treat the fresh stain with a sponge mixed with a little dish soap and water.
