Flowers like loose soil. If you only use simple soil here, it will become very hard very quickly due to watering. That is why it helps to make the soil looser with additives. Here we have a tip for this:
Styrofoam for potting soil
For this use normal Styrofoam, as you get it delivered in packages. Simply crush it so that very small balls are created and mix it into the soil, this makes it looser and the water is distributed better.
