A big event when a baby is born. Everyone wants to give something nice. I can still remember very well how I always enjoyed choosing something nice for friends and relatives for the birth. But of course, there are cases where you don't really know what to give, and that's why I would like to give a few suggestions here that brought me great joy as a mother:

Baby diary
A really nice idea is to give a baby diary as a gift. Here you can enter a lot of data, make notes, and often stick in photos of important events. Even as a mother of twins, I managed to fill it nicely so far and also stick in photos. Even if there isn't room for everything, I have repeatedly made notes on the edges of the page because I felt some points were important. I think it's a wonderful memory that I want to pass on to my children. We received the baby book: "My first time – I actually know how much I am loved!" as a gift and I can only recommend it.

Even though I received a lot on loan, it is great to receive a few bodysuits or rompers as a gift. It is something nice to have something of your own that you might even be able to pass on yourself. I was very happy about bodysuits and rompers. For me, sweaters and shirts were rather impractical; they look totally cute, but are often difficult to put on newborns. Often there are also starter sets for the baby, which include several color-coordinated pieces.

At the beginning, the little ones don't need that much toys, but after a few months it becomes more and more interesting for babies, and it is great for parents if there is already some available that is actually accepted by the baby. Our children also received some toys as gifts, and there were things they loved immensely and some less so. 3. Mr. Square book by Gobo
We ordered this book from Gobo. Gobo has a program with many great books and also toys that can be purchased according to age. Our children – especially our daughter – liked this book from the beginning; it makes noises, has large pictures, and is completely soft, so she couldn't hurt herself.
4. Plush toys
Of course, plush toys are great for babies; we also bought some and received some as gifts. The favorite plush toy of our children is and remains Winnie the Pooh for our daughter and Eeyore for our son – so far. Let's see what comes next.

5. Key teething ring
A key teething ring is also a great toy for the beginning. Our son in particular loved such a key. He loved shaking the key immensely and also biting on it. He often carried the key around in his little mouth like a dog.

6. Maxi Cosi toy
When we were on the go, we always hung a Maxi Cosi toy on the carrying handle of the Maxi Cosi. This way, our children always had something to play with in front of their eyes and were often occupied for a while.

7. Rubber duck
Rubber ducks should not be missing in any baby bathtub. We have one made of particularly soft natural latex, which our children liked very much.

As soon as our children could grasp, this play arch became a must. They liked playing with the things hanging down. This play arch from Ikea was very practical for me because it was washable.

We hung our gifted mobile over the changing table and it really served us well. The children were nicely distracted by it and you could change them great. Diaper Cake
That was also a great gift, because diapers go away like nothing, especially with twins. Usually, these ready-made diaper cakes also contain care products or accessories. But I have also seen them with stuffed animals.

Impression kits

The diaper changing belt
A practical and also funny idea for a new dad is the diaper changing belt. This is already available as a ready-made set on the Internet, or you can put it together yourself. That is not so difficult and done quite quickly. I have instructions for that here for you:

Babysitting vouchers
Anyone who can't think of anything or doesn't get around to shopping can also bring great joy to the parents by giving them a voucher for babysitting. It doesn't have to be the whole night, but maybe at lunchtime so that the new parents can go out for a really nice meal. Anyone who doesn't trust themselves with so much can also offer a walk with the stroller so that the mother can rest a little. I have always gladly accepted these offers and was hugely happy!
Caution: If special things are to be bought, consultation with the parents should always be held, because if everyone gives the same thing, or the parents have already bought it themselves, it is not so great.
