Castle
With 6,000 inhabitants, the small town of Burg is the center of the island. Here you will find many shopping opportunities, historic houses, cozy restaurants that invite you to linger, and graceful streets that transport those vacationers back to another, older time. Marine Center in Burg
Experience 4 million liters of water, 5,000 m² of adventure area and thousands of tropical sea creatures from all over the world! The Marine Center combines all this and is always well visited on both sunny and rainy days, offering variety and fascination for young and old. As early as 1998, the Marine Center was included in the Guinness Book of Records as the largest tropical aquarium in Germany and continues to offer new attractions and sights to this day.
The Marine Center is open all year round and only closes its doors at Christmas and New Year's. You can visit it between

The Sea
However, those who come to Fehmarn do not just want to go sightseeing and indulge in culture. Anyone who feels so much water around them also wants to experience water. Planet Earth in Burgstaaken
Right next to the "crazy laboratory – Experimenta" you will find another adventure: Planet Earth – discover your world. Here you can experience a journey through time: from the beginnings of mankind, the life of dinosaurs, fossilized remains and interesting lizards, you will find almost everything a discoverer's heart desires. A real highlight: the earthquake simulation, which can only be experienced 4 times in Germany.
