Guacamole not only tastes good, it is also very healthy. This is because avocados provide important nutrients such as unsaturated fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals like B vitamins, potassium, copper, vitamin E, and much more. Admittedly, it doesn't look very appetizing on a buffet (it's basically green mush), but it really, really tastes excellent. This avocado dip doesn't just go well with tortilla chips; it's a highlight with grilled food, and it's also very suitable as a spread or a dip for vegetables. I made this dip as a side dish for our barbecue this weekend and everyone loved it – yes, even the kids tried this green mush. Here is my recipe:

For the 4 of us, I used 3 avocados, left the rest the same, and it worked out great as a side dish for grilling.

Ingredients

Preparation

  1. For the guacamole, first halve the avocados and remove the pit and the skin.

  2. In a bowl, mash the avocado with a fork so that it becomes a smooth cream.

  3. Crush the garlic in a garlic press and add it to the bowl.

  4. Halve a lemon or lime, squeeze one half and add it to the guacamole.

  5. Cut the tomatoes into very small dice and add them to the dip as well.

  6. Now add the spices — salt, pepper and a little chili powder — and mix everything well.
