Poppy seed noodles are a favorite dish of children and are requested again and again. I noticed a recipe with quark in a magazine that didn't seem too difficult to me. So I had to try it out right away and lo and behold, it worked wonderfully and the children liked it, only my son doesn't like the lemon taste so much. Here is the recipe, which I can highly recommend:

Ingredients

Preparation

  1. In a bowl, beat the quark, softened butter, eggs, vanilla sugar, lemon zest and a pinch of salt well with a hand mixer.

  2. Then add the semolina and the flour and stir until all ingredients are well combined.

  3. Let the dough rest in the fridge for 15 minutes.

  4. Now bring a large pot of water to a boil and add a pinch of salt.

  5. Then dust a work surface with flour and shape the dough into small rolls.

  6. Always keep some flour on hand; that way the dough won’t stick to your hands as much.

  7. Reduce the heat on the stove so the water in the pot is no longer boiling vigorously, now add the noodles and let them simmer for 10 minutes over low heat.

  8. The noodles are done when they float to the surface.

  9. Use a sieve to fish the noodles out of the water and let them drain in a sieve.

  10. Put the noodles in a nice bowl, add the butter, powdered sugar and poppy seeds and mix everything well.

Tips & Notes

Poppy seed noodles are excellent served with fresh fruit or a plum compote.
