Pizza is a very popular food, especially for children. It is also great for the homemaker, because the dough is not that difficult and can be topped to your heart's content. Sometimes, however, the pizza becomes too watery. Here we have a recipe for a pizza dough and information on how to keep the pizza from getting watery:
Recipe for Making Pizza Yourself
The dough makes 2 pizzas.
Pizza becomes too watery
Here are a few tips if the pizza gets too mushy:
- Do not puree the tomato sauce
- Dry the mozzarella first and do not put it on the pizza while it is soaking wet
- Do not put too many toppings on it
- Remove moisture from the ingredients: e.g., sauté mushrooms first (they lose their water in the process)
- If you are preparing pizza yourself, it is recommended to first top the dough only with pizza sauce and cheese and to add the remaining toppings only five minutes before eating. This way, the pizza does not taste soggy and watery, and the ingredients, such as peppers or onions, do not lose as many important nutrients during the short heating time.
