First, heat some oil in a pan and squeeze the contents of the coarse bratwurst into the pan. To do this, simply squeeze out one centimeter at a time – this creates small sausage balls that are fried until cooked in the pan.
Now peel, wash and dice the potatoes. Also wash the zucchini and spring onions well and slice them. Add everything to the pan with the bratwurst balls and fry well. In the meantime, the apple can be washed, cored and diced. Once the contents of the pan are cooked through, transfer them to a suitable casserole dish and briefly fry the apple in the pan until golden brown. Finally, add the sautéed apples to the casserole.
Now finally the custard is poured over the casserole. For this, simply whisk the eggs with the milk and the spices and pour over the farmer's casserole. At 200° the casserole is now baked for about 45 minutes.
Fresh mushrooms, carrots and bell peppers are also excellent for the farmer's casserole.
