Recipe for Stuffed Bread Rolls

Of course, you can design the stuffed bread rolls in various ways. The egg in the bread is usually the highlight, so the bottom filling is often swapped out. From cream cheese and grated cheese to minced meat fillings, there are plenty of possibilities. Simply test it out, try it, and enjoy.

Ingredients

Preparation

  1. Whether you use frozen or fresh rolls for the filled buns doesn’t really matter.

  2. Frozen rolls should be thawed; fresh rolls can be used immediately.

  3. Simply place the roll on the work surface in front of you and cut off the top, just enough so you can fill it.

  4. You should also hollow out the bread so there’s plenty of space for the filling.

  5. For the filling, fresh mushrooms, onions and cooked ham were used here.

  6. Peel the onions, dice them finely and sauté them in a little oil in a pan until translucent, then add the diced cooked ham.

  7. In the meantime, clean the mushrooms (do not wash them so they don’t absorb too much water) and slice them.

  8. Add the mushrooms to the pan as well and let them cook briefly.

  9. Now divide the pan contents among the rolls and place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  10. Now comes the exciting moment: carefully place an egg into each roll, season it with salt and pepper and perhaps garnish with chives or parsley.

  11. Now bake the rolls in the oven at 160° Celsius (top and bottom heat) for about 10–15 minutes.

  12. Then serve the filled rolls immediately and enjoy.

Tips & Notes

Tip: if you’re unsure when cracking the eggs, you can first crack them into a cup and fish out any eggshells.
