These chicken legs not only taste particularly fruity, they are a real highlight for children as well as for adults.
Recipe Chicken in Mandarin Sauce
Tip:spaghetti or rice are excellent side dishes. However, for those who find this too much, a sliced baguette can also be served.
Note:canned mandarins are a simple yet delicious option. Those who want to make the dish more sophisticated can use a fresh orange, fillet the segments, and use them for the dish.

Preparation
The chicken legs are removed from the packaging, rinsed under running water, patted dry with a paper towel, and then seasoned with salt and pepper on both sides.
Now the onion can be peeled and cut into fine cubes. The mushrooms are cleaned and cut into thin slices. The can of mandarins is opened, the juice is collected in a cup and set aside.
In a large pan, a little olive oil is heated and the chicken legs are seared briefly on both sides. Then the legs are removed from the pan and set aside in a roasting pan.
In the pan, the onions and mushrooms can now also be sautéed. Afterwards the tomato paste is added, stirred in, dusted with a little flour and lightly browned. The poultry stock is added for deglazing, followed by the mandarin juice and the mandarin pieces. The sauce is briefly brought to a boil, then poured over the chicken thighs in the roasting pan. In the oven on the rack, the chicken thighs are now cooked at about 200° Celsius (top and bottom heat) for approximately 40–45 minutes.
Tips & Notes
As a side dish, spaghetti or rice are excellent. If, however, that is too much, you can also offer a baguette in slices. The canned mandarins are a simple but still tasty option. If you want to make the dish more refined, use a fresh orange, segment the pieces and use them for the dish.
